Fall in Michigan is here, and the holiday season will be upon us again before we know it. Many of our client families make plans to spend their holidays with friends and family in the dream homes they’ve built for themselves. Part of their design process was planning for hospitality. That means creating comfortable spaces that anticipate the needs of their guests. Designing the perfect guest bedroom involves both the aesthetic and practical. Here are some examples from builds we recently finished that will give you an idea of the possibilities.
The Perfect Guest Bedroom
The bedroom featured above has elegant refinement and amazing views. It’s tucked away on the upper level of the home far away from the hustle and bustle of this very large house. The home can accommodate many guests and still provide them with luxury and privacy.
This bathroom was built in accordance with the wet room concept. The bathtub is enclosed in a waterproof space along with the shower. Guests have ample room to unpack their personal items and toiletries in the drawers underneath the sink and settle in comfort in the bathtub on a cold day or take a quick shower after enjoying the lake.
Private Quarters for Guests
This guest bedroom is located in a wonderful space with a separate entry into private guest quarters. The space is finished with reclaimed materials and soothing materials. It’s exceptionally cozy and inviting.
The separate wing of this home has its own amazing views of the property and provides an isolated natural oasis for guests to relax in.
Adding a separate wing or private guest quarters allows for additional space and independence for your guests while the homeowner can also relax or work within the home. This is a wonderful solution for grandparents who want to spend extended time with their kids and and grandkids while still giving them their own privacy.
